Mice homozygous for a germline mutation in the Ikaros DNA-binding domain lack not only T and B lymphocytes and natural killer cells, but also their earliest defined progenitors. Also haemopoietic defects and dleayed globin switching 
mice that express only non-DNA-binding dominant-negative 'leukemogenic' Ikaros isoforms lacking critical N-terminal zinc fingers develop an aggressive form of lymphoblastic leukemia
